Throughout life you meet people who impact and leave a stamp on your life. Coach Goshay, is one of those individuals who impacted my life in a positive and uplifting way through sports and clubs since the 6th grade. He is a leader, motivator, and is always there to talk. I thank God for putting him in my life and introducing me to a positive person that I can forever be thankful for what he has done.

Coach Goshay is a good man, he is one of the best coaches on an off the court. He motivates us to do whatever we want in life, and motivates me to push myself. Whatever he say he stands on it and if it was a such thing as for all parent, coach, teacher and of course a leader of “the Pack” he would get it for sure !

August 10, 2017 sophomore year. The day it all started. Mr. Garius Goshay, intimidating at first but underneath it all is a kind hearted, honorable teacher who pushes his students to realize their own becoming. Over the course of 3 years I have spent as a student in a multitude of Goshay’s classes I’ve experienced first-hand how one teacher, one coach, one mentor can make a difference in just 45 min out of the day. If it wasn’t for Garius Goshay I wouldn’t have went out of my comfort zone and applied to become class president 2 years running. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have realized one of my many passions for teaching kids who just need that push. If it wasn’t for that one day, one class I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I’ve gained so much more than just his teachings. I’ve gained someone I can trust and who will always be in my corner to support me. “The only thing that stays the same is change” and I can say that as many times I’ve heard that saying I’ve never felt it hit closer to home till now. I guess it stuck.

Mr. Goshay is one of the most influential teachers I have had throughout my educational career. He is an incredible teacher, not only in the way he delivers his curriculum, but also in the way that he makes each and every student (whether they are in his class or not) feel special, valued, and important. He empowers all of his students to follow their dreams, raise their expectations, and to always strive for excellence in every aspect of their lives. Mr. Goshay has spread so much kindness and happiness to everyone around him, and I am so thankful that I was able to learn from him for just a few short years.
